Helping the Homeless: Families in Transition Gets Major Boost with Charitable Gaming
February 23, 2022 – Manchester – Filotimo Casino Sportsbook and Restaurant is proud to have partnered with Families in Transition for ten days of charitable gaming where the non-profit received over $74-thousand dollars that will allow it to further its mission of helping New Hampshire’s homeless.
Families in Transition is committed to preventing and breaking the cycle of homelessness, offering programs and services to assist families and individuals through integrated case management, affordable housing, emergency homelessness services, food programs, and substance use treatment.
In 2021 Families in Transition assisted 1,724 individuals by providing them with affordable housing and emergency shelter. The organization also provided nearly 200-thousand meals to program participants. Proceeds raised through charitable gaming will help the organization continue offering safe, affordable housing for those in need in New Hampshire.
“These funds will support our programs and go a long way in helping families who need our services,” stated Maria Devlin, President and CEO of Families in Transition. “We are grateful to Filotimo and their charitable gaming to assist us in raising this money that will no doubt help us work to prevent and break the cycle of homelessness in New Hampshire.”
Also, Housing Benefits raised nearly 65-thousand dollars and the NH Coalition to End Homelessness raised over 62-thousand dollars through their designated ten days of charitable gaming.
